After several years of preparation, the first contracts will now be subject to procurement. An important milestone for Procurement Manager Pia Lindberg Nedby.<\/span><\/address>\n

The first procurement that will be sent out is for three work tunnels in Barkarby. In May it’s time:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have laid the foundation for this since 2014, so this is a big moment for us,\u201d says Pia Lindberg Nedby, Head of the Procurement Unit.<\/span><\/p>\n

She is often contacted by companies from around the world that want to know more about the contracts. Pia Lindberg Nedby also travels around and gives talks about the Metro, at everything from infrastructure fairs to embassies, and delegations often come and visit the offices.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAll contact is welcome! And we have really noticed that there is a lot of interest in joining in and expanding the Metro. This was clearly evident at this autumn’s Supplier’s Day, with nearly 300 visitors from 18 different countries,\u201d says Pia Lindberg Nedby.<\/span><\/p>\n

This autumn, another Supplier’s Day will also be arranged, with the latest information on all the contracts and construction work that will be carried out before the Metro is ready to be opened.<\/span><\/p>\n

But it was a long time ago that a metro was built in Stockholm. Is the right expertise available?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYes! We haven’t built a metro but the contractors have. Metro systems are being built all across the world \u2013 Helsinki, New York, Barcelona… And of course here at home we have built both the Stockholm City Line and road tunnels, so there is definitely experience here to be utilised.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
