Revised Procurement Plan for Rock and Civil Engineering Contracts – Yellow Line
The administration for extended metro have updated the procurement strategy and contract packaging regarding rock and civil engineering for the new Yellow Line to Älvsjö. The change entails the following:
- The TBM contract will comprise tunnel driving using TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) as well as four stations. The contract includes the detailed design and construction of tunnels using TBM from the Älvsjö depot to Fridhemsplan, as well as the construction of four rock caverns for the stations Älvsjö, Östbergahöjden, Årstaberg, and Årstafältet. At the start of the contract, initial works will have been completed, serving as access points for the contract works: Launch pit for the TBM, access tunnels in Älvsjö and Årstaberg, Vertical shaft down to roof level at Östbergahöjden, Vertical shaft through the soil layers at Årstafältet.
- The vertical shaft at Östbergahöjden will be executed as a separate contract.
- Liljeholmen and Fridhemsplan stations remain as separate contracts.
- Other Rock Contracts (working tunnels and geotechnical structures) are not affected by these changes.
By merging several station contracts with the TBM contract, the contractor is given greater opportunity to plan their work and allocate resources. This also simplifies critical interfaces between contracts, thereby reducing the risk of delays.
