Mitt i tunneln mellan Högdalsedepån och Gröna linjen i Hökarängen byggs en underjordisk uppställningshall.
Background
The trains in the metro need to be cleaned, washed, and repaired so that all of us traveling on the metro can ride in clean and intact carriages. However, the current depot capacity is not sufficient as Stockholm’s metro expands. That’s why we are expanding the metro depot in Högdalen, an important part of the new metro expansion.

More Depot in Högdalen
The Högdalen depot is being expanded with new buildings and increased capacity. We are building new storage halls for the trains, a new washing hall, and a new cleaning hall. In the future, the depot will be able to accommodate roughly twice as many trains as it does today.

We are building a new tunnel
Between the Högdalen depot and Hökarängen, we are building a new tunnel so that the depot can accommodate trains from both the Green Line’s Farsta branch and the Hagsätra branch, which will become part of the Blue Line in the future. In connection with the tunnel, we are building a new underground storage hall.
