Overview
The new subway line between Fridhemsplan and Älvsjö will consist of 6 stations. The track tunnels will be bored using two tunnel boring machines (TBMs), which will start south of Älvsjö station and bore northward all the way to Fridhemsplan. When the tunnel boring machines reach a station, the station cavern must already be blasted/excavated, and the TBMs will be pulled through the station space before continuing northward. To facilitate planning and execution, the contract includes both tunnel boring with TBMs and rock excavation works for the four southern stations: Älvsjö, Östbergahöjden, Årstafältet, and Årstaberg.
About the Contract
The contract comprises:
TBM Tunnel Driving

Design, manufacturing, delivery, and assembly of the TBMs (tunnel boring machines)

Tunnel driving along the entire route

Segmental lining/tunnel lining with concrete segments, including the manufacturing and installation of segments along the entire route.
Station Caverns and Vertical Shafts

Årstaberg: Station cavern and vertical shaft

Årstafältet: Station cavern and vertical shaft

Östbergahöjden: Station cavern (the vertical shaft is procured under a separate contract)

Älvsjö: Station cavern and vertical shaft
Temporary Technical Safety Installations (STI)

Temporary safety systems during the construction period (radio communication systems for emergency services, mobile telephony, evacuation alarms, as well as positioning and access control systems).
Temporary Installations (TFI)

Temporary electricity, lighting, ventilation, water and wastewater systems, including treatment plants and fire water.
